Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Signing Edge only grants access to personally identifiable information to individuals who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service). The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment and protected by anti-virus surveillance software that is periodically updated from time to time to ensure the most up to date protection.

New Sign Language Interpreter Requests

We request information from you on our request form for prospective clients that have not used Signing Edge before. To request a sign language interpreter from us, you must provide contact information (like name and address) and financial information (like name of financial contact person and billing addresses). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your requests. It will also be used to grant access to our on-line interpreting schedule service through our partnership with Vineya. If we have trouble processing a request, we’ll use this information to contact you.

Sharing

We partner with another service provider, Vineya, to provide on-line interpreter scheduling services. This is provided as a convenience for our clients to ensure that they can have a record of their request automatically made and to ensure that we do not miss important information that can enable us to provide high quality services. When a Signing Edge client schedules an interpreter through this interface portal, we will share names or other contact information that is necessary for Vineya’s interpreting scheduling software to be able to ensure that our interpreters are scheduled appropriately and in line with your request. Vineya is not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing online interpreter scheduling services.

Surveys

From time-to-time our site requests information via surveys. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site as well as improving the services that we provide to our clients.
